Meet Dr. Doug Harshman (Lincoln, NE)

Doug Harshman, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston in 2000. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1996.

Dr. Harshman is an experienced optometrist at EyeCare Specialties in Lincoln, Nebraska, with more than 25 years of providing comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. He is focused on family eye care and has experience managing a wide range of vision and eye health needs, including ocular disease, diabetic eye care, macular degeneration, urgent eye care, and contact lens services. Patients appreciate his honest and genuine approach to meeting their eye care needs.

Originally from Nebraska City, Dr. Harshman also spent 10 years practicing in the Pacific Northwest, living and working in Spokane and Richland, Washington. He chose a career in optometry because of his interest in a medical-oriented profession that helps improve patients’ lives. One of the aspects he enjoys most about being an optometrist is interacting with a wide variety of people, from young children to seniors.

Outside the office, Dr. Harshman enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, their two children, and grandson along with playing an occasional round of golf. Dr. Harshman welcomes family-friendly care for patients of all ages.
